National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Illustration
For National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, the marketing team at Anderson Trucking Service collaborated to produce a lighthearted video to express appreciation for their drivers. As part of this initiative, I was responsible for creating illustrations that would visually enhance the video and contribute to its engaging tone.
A key challenge I encountered during this project was character development. My initial designs for the creatures were not quite hitting the mark, and I quickly recognized the need for refinement. Drawing inspiration from iconic characters like Sam-I-Am and the Lorax, I was able to evolve the designs into Katt and Stan—two characters that successfully embodied the playful and fun spirit of the video while conveying the message of appreciation.
The illustrations played a pivotal role in bringing a playful, Dr. Seuss-inspired story to life for National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. In this light-hearted video, CEO Rollie Anderson read the story, which humorously touched on the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain shortages.
The characters, Katt and Stan, guided viewers through the narrative, while highlighting the real-world challenges. This blend of light-hearted visuals with a meaningful message helped showcase Anderson Trucking Service’s appreciation for its drivers while addressing the industry's struggles during the pandemic.
